New hardware is also an opportunity for a new software stack.
Hardware without software to run on it is no more than a paperweight.
We are working on exploring new ideas around software development tooling and operating systems to make software easier to build, more efficient and robust, and more composable.
We also aim to have useful software at the hardware launch, with an emphasis on scientific and engineering software. This may include computational geometry, CFD, FEA, optimization, constraint solving, linear algebra, theorem proving, physics-oriented comptuer algebra systems, and more.
Our chips are meant to be highly modular and tileable, with a very large grid of simple cores. Simplicity buys other advantages, and enables the return of valuable features such as deterministic latency that are lacking in modern high-performance hardware. This opens up broad applications in industry, robotics, finance, and more.
